Skills for the future we want
We are the ones we are waiting for. To have the peaceful, abundant future we want, we must work towards it today. Dandelion House is a place to learn, practice and share the skills that will bring that future about. To learn something you have never done. To teach something you know. To keep practicing until it comes together.
What we practice
Skills for our bodies Movement, rest, food, and the affirming practices that keep us here and well
Skills for relationships: Making a decisions together. Repairing something after it breaks. Sharing money and labor fairly.
Skills for the land: Growing food and medicine, Repairing relationship with land. Composting. Tending soil. Working with what is already here.
Skills for culture, imagination, and truth telling: Art, dance, craft, music, story, and the ways we tell each other who we are.
How it works
Most of our programming is curated. We invite facilitators whose practice fits what we are trying to build, and we work with partner organizations bringing their own work into the space.
Dandelion House values reciprocity. Not exchange, where every gift comes with an invoice attached, and not charity, where it only ever moves one direction. Reciprocity in that what you give and what you receive are both real, and neither one is a transaction.
Some of our programming is free, thanks to limited grant funding. Most of it is not, and we want to be plain about why. Teaching is work. Facilitation is work. Dandelion House is community supported, which means the people who show up are the reason we can pay the people who lead. We share revenue with our teachers and facilitators as well as our staff.
When you pay for a workshop, you are paying a person. When you can pay more, you make room for someone who cannot. When you teach, you are held the same way. That is how we are practicing reciprocity.

A workshop, a skill share, a practice group that meets monthly. Tell us what you practice and who you want in the room.
We work out revenue shares with our facilitators, so teaching here is sustainable rather than a favor you do us. For facilitators who have their own prices or envision the space for a closed audience, we are happy to do a straightforward space rental as well.
